I wasn’t born in a Christian home (not sure if I’ve shared that before or not). But my mum is Christian so I grew up hearing bits and pieces of Bible stories. One story that confused me was the story of the loaves and fish. What do you mean Jesus fed people with a few pieces of bread and fish?

So I asked my mother and she explained that it was a miracle. That was the point of the story. The small amount of food fed the crowd. It made no sense to me. As an adult I felt like I understood the story better. Jesus fed the people. They came to Him. They were hungry. He fed them. Is anything too hard for our God?
But to see it in action was a whole other thing. I have been retrenched in September. Since then I’ve been living off my savings and a tiny portion of monthly UIF. It has been 7 months. Somehow I still have money. Since then my car has broken down twice, I needed to pay for a visit to the vet for my furkids. I know I’m bad at math but somehow God has come through for me and I am so so grateful.
I knew the story as a kid and I knew it as an adult. But to watch God provide IRL has truly been an amazing experience.
